India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) has introduced a new feature that allows customers to use face authentication for banking transactions.

This Aadhaar-based system is designed to make banking easier, especially for senior citizens, differently-abled individuals, and people who have trouble using fingerprint-based systems.
No Fingerprint, No OTP — Just Your Face
With this new feature, you can now do all your basic banking activities using just your face as identity. No need to touch any device or remember OTPs. You simply look at the camera, and your identity is verified through your Aadhaar.
This means activities like balance check, money transfer, utility payments, and even account opening can now be done without physical contact.
Designed for Simplicity and Inclusion
The system has been developed under the UIDAI framework and is especially useful for those who struggle with traditional biometric systems. Many elderly customers or people doing manual labour often face issues with fingerprint recognition. This feature solves that.
Backed by IPPB’s Wide Network
IPPB is already known for its wide reach through India’s postal network, especially in rural areas. With this rollout, even more people in remote villages and towns will be able to access banking services easily—right at their doorstep.
Aligned with Digital India and Financial Inclusion
This new authentication method supports the goals of Digital India and Financial Inclusion. According to IPPB’s CEO R. Viswesvaran, the aim is to provide dignified and accessible banking for all. It’s not just about convenience—it’s about equal access.
One Face Scan. Done.
For those who have struggled with tech-heavy processes or biometric errors, this is a welcome change. One face scan—and your banking is done. Easy, contactless, and made for every Indian.
